  • COLLEGE ROAD TRIP stars Martin Lawrence as Chicago cop James Porter, an overprotective father who wants to keep his college-bound daughter, Melanie (Raven-Symone), close to home. When the smart, assertive Melanie declares her intention to attend Georgetown instead of Northwestern, James insistently sets out with her on a cross-country car journey to Washington D.C., hoping to dissuade her along the way. En route, of course, plenty of hijinks ensue, including scenarios involving a precocious pig and, oddly enough, Donny Osmond, who turns up as an eeriely cheery dad also on a college-touring campaign.

  • This show is hilarious. Donny Osmond and his daughter are a scream. Martin Lawrence and Raven are hilarious. This is a must see. My girls are 8 and 10 and we watch it over and over. It was a great buy, and was really funny you don’t mind watching it over again. They love the ending and replay it about 10 times after we have watched the movie.

Come on Raven and Martin!!! – K. May – USA
This movie is a great concept, but I think some of it was too childish. Even though it says college road trip it is meant for younger audiences. So this movie isn’t bad it has a lot of good moments and funny moments. I thought Martin Lawerence would be funnier.

unappealing to most – Allen –
This movie is geared for a specific audience of pre-teen girls, and if you are not in that target group, this movie is quite stupid. I didn’t find it funny. Martin Lawerence plays an overprotective father whose daughter is going to college. He wants her to go to school close to home, but she wants to go to Georgetown. They decide to take a road trip to Georgetown for her interview. Her young brother and his pet pig hitch a ride too, and they must overcome several mishaps to get to Georgetown in time for the interview. From skydiving to a pig on caffeine; it was just silly.

FINAL VERDICT: A terrible Disney film.

    Trash. – Kody – New York,NY
I went to our local movie store and rented this film because it was Friday and it was movie night. Not only was this film horrible, it was so hard to get into. It just drags and drags. Skip it.

When my kids find a movie they like it’s usually the only thing they want to watch for a long time and this is one of the few movies that I end up watching over and over that doesn’t end up getting on my nerves like alot of other movies will.
The characters are perfectly animated, the voices fit well and the movie goes well with the soundtrack also with a good story line and will keep the kids attention.

The Wild? More like send this piece of junk back to the Wild!! – S. O. fantasty –
This movie is so bad!! The animation does not look like it belongs in the Walt Disney Productions and the acting is very bad!!! Here is what I think:

Well…one afternoon, I came back from church and I decided to check what was on televison. I saw this peice of poo on and a memory chip triggered in my mind. “Hey, haven;’t I see this train-wreck of a movie in commercials a few years ago?” I thought to myself…Oh well….I decided to burn my eyes off watching this horrible movie!! 6 WORDS—THIS MOVIE IS NOT FUN-EE!!! IT IS NEITHER FUN OR FUNNY… It is just boring and none of the people can act.

The movie was just pure cheese. The animals wre the most ugliest excuses of drugged wild animals I have ever seen!!! Do not watch this movie if you want to watch a box office bomb–low buget-Finding Nemo (which sucks by the way)immitation!! All the jokes have been done before and I did not laugh once…I DIDN’T EVEN SMILE!!! THIS MOVIE IS SOOOOOOO BAD THAT I WOULD RATHER WATCH ANTZ FOR 3 EXTRA MINUTE THEN VOMIT IN THE BATHROOM!!! This movie just disappeared!! I just like saw 3 commercials of this movie and they took it off the televion!!! (I’m not complaining because this movie is as interesting as watching paint dry!!!!)

Anyway….The characters were unrealistic, undeveloped, stupid, and darnright cheesy!! NO ONE CAN ACT AND THE JOKES ARE AS FUNNY AS…WELL….IT’S SO BAD THERE IS NOT ANYTHING WORSE TO COMPARE IT TO!!!

ONE FINAL NOTE—IT SUCKS!!! DON’T BUY IT!! I SUGGEST YOU RENT IT THEN THROW IT BACK TO WHERE IT CAME FROM-THE TITLE OF THE MOVIE–THE WILD!!!!!!

    -5/5!!!

Timidity and conservation–no lyin’, the wild is dyin’ – P. Costello –
Did you ever pop in a video for a sick child in order to, you hope, get a chance for a nap? Well, enter “The Wild,” which I had seen on the local library shelf. Apart from some strange storyline–wildebeests about to eat lion meat for the first time because they were prodded to by William Shatner–there is absolutely nothing memorable about this movie. It is a poor excuse for passing the time–and it definitely prevents naps.

About the only redeeming feature in it, and I think that this is stretching it, is the fact that a child might begin to ask questions about ‘the wild.’ Wilderness is indeed passing away before our eyes, and it might be a worthwhile exercise in environmental ethics to begin to communicate that to children. However, the movie ends with, if I can remember the order of the drivel correctly, the animals turning back (willingly) for the zoo.

Finally, it is with this movie that I began to realize something: the more Disney I see, the more the formula seems to come out. Begin with animals that talk. Create story-line about parent-child conflict. Enter bad animals. Friends who serve as comic relief waver because of weak characters or intellects. Family triumphs over the bad animals and helps weak friends become strong. Point about conservation then deliberately lost in sales of plastic toys.

Oh, and by the way, if you are looking for strong girl characters in the film, you are lucky if you find one. And she is forced to kiss a squirrel. Yecch.
