Meet the Robinsons [Blu-ray] Reviews By Customers
Until I saw this movie, Cars and Toy Story 2 were my favorite kid movies. We rented this for our 4 year old and I wasn’t very interested in watching it since I didn’t know much about it. I reluctantly sat down and was hooked! I LOVE LOVE LOVE this movie. Since we rented it a few weeks ago, I’ve watched this movie about 15 times already, start to finish. I’m a huge movie person, and not usually big on kid movies, and I LOVE this movie. It’s fun, has a great message, and I just love the ending. Sure, it’s sappy but it gets me every time – yes, I’m a weeper and I literally weep every single time I watch the ending. I’m a 34 year old adult who only recently started watching kid movies b/c of our own child and this is one of the best I’ve seen, actually for me – a mom, THE best. I’m just sad there isn’t a Meet the Robinsons 2.

Very happy with DVD. It worked fine and it came in the description stated by seller.
surprisingly fast! – K. Yuen –
Really fast shipping! came in way earlier than the expected date! great job, would definitely buy from again!
One of the most underappreciated Disney movies! – Shirefen Soto – Anaheim Hills, CA
I first saw this movie on TV (Disney Channel) and was in love with it immediately. My toddler son who doesn’t really sit still long enough for a movie loved it too! The story is original, creative, and heartening. The end will surprise most viewers. The blue ray makes the graphics even more amazing. I am sad that that it is not as popular as “Toy Story” or “Cars” because it is a really great movie! Disney would be smart to make a ride/attraction out of this movie! 5 stars all the way!

Big [Blu-ray] Reviews By Customers
If you have Big (Extended Edition), then you will see that this new Blu-ray edition has no new extra features from that version. What it does have is higher picture quality and sound. There are details I hadn’t noticed before. Is it worth this purchase? That all depends on how much of a home theater buff you are. If you want blu-ray quality video and audio, then you will most likely want to upgrade this classic 1988 flick; otherwise, you might be content to hold onto your DVD version until something significantly better comes out.
When it was first released in 1988, “Big” instantly became one of my favorite films. 20 years later, I can still say the same thing. This film not only “holds up” well, it is still a timeless classic. It is the story of 12 year old Josh Baskin, who wishes he were “big” after being humiliated at a carnival for not being tall enough to ride an attraction in front of the classmate that he has a crush on. His wish is granted by the arcade machine, Zoltar, and the next morning, he wakes up as a 30 year old (Tom Hanks). He’s kicked out of the house by his mother, who thinks he is a pervert who has broken in. To make matters worse, he can’t reverse the wish for at least another 30 days. On the advice of his best buddy, Billy (Jared Rushton), he gets a job in New York City to pass the time and earn some money to live on. Josh quickly moves up the ladder at MacMillan Toy Company, and also attracts the attention of Susan Lawrence (Elizabeth Perkins), who has made a habit of sleeping with the new up-and-coming executives. The longer he inhabits his 30-year old body, the more he grows away from his childhood buddy, Billy. However, the day of reckoning eventually comes when he must make a choice.
Hanks & Perkins give outstanding performances; instead of “playing” a 12 year old, Hanks actually becomes one. His innocence is totally believable. Perkins plays the part of the ambitious Susan to perfection, and she is the perfect love interest for Hanks. Talk about chemistry!
Just like its DVD counterpart, the Blu-Ray version gives you 2 versions of the movie; one is the theatrical version, and the other is an Extended Cut (note: NOT a director’s cut…just an extra 20 minutes or so added back in). Skip the extended version; it adds nothing, and if anything slows the pacing down and adds sub plots that are meaningless (example: Billy’s shrewish mother, played by Frances Fisher). The picture is wonderful; good detail and color. Sound is a DTS-HD Lossless Master Audio 5.1 Surround track (48kHz/24-bit) that sounds pleasing, but other than the Billy Idol “Hot in the City” Limo scene, doesn’t really get much of a chance to shine. Video is presented in a remastered 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 transfer (1.85:1) and looks very good but won’t blow your socks off. Extras are all presented in 480i/MPEG-2.
There is an interesting “commentary” track by the writers/creators of “Big,” Gary Ross & Anne Spielberg. Although extremely interesting, this would have been better as an audio-only supplement. A nice commentary that corresponds with the picture by director Marshall or Hanks would have been better. The track consists of current interviews with Ross & Spielberg (yes, Steven’s sister) who introduce vintage audio tapes that they made while they brainstormed the idea of what would become “Big.” The tapes do not correspond to what you see on your screen. Yes, it is interesting, but after awhile, it gets somewhat annoying having to listen to Gary continually talk over Anne and not letting her ideas be heard. It does appear that much of the movie that we know and love came from Anne, who quietly (and thankfully) persisted with her vision.
Deleted scenes with commentary by director Penny Marshall (but if you watch the extended cut, none of these will be new for you). For one of her first movies, she does an excellent job. As did Anne, she had a vision of what the film and especially Hanks’ performance should be and she stuck with it, despite the risks (example: at least 3 other age-change movies were ready for release before “Big” would be finished). There are a number of featurettes: “Big Beginnings”, “Chemistry of a Classic”, AMC Backstory, “The Work of Play,” and “Carnival Party Newswrap” (a vintage film showing the wrap party for “Big.”). There is a fair amount of overlap in all the extras, as Marshall, Ross, and Spielberg are the main contributors. Still, plenty of interesting tidbits; we came this close to seeing Robert DeNiro in the lead role. It is also interesting to hear the young stars of the film, David Moscow (young Josh) and Jared Rushton, discuss the filming. Perkins also gives some fun insights as well. Theatrical trailer and TV Spots round out this edition.
If Blu-ray is to succeed, then some of the other studios besides Disney need to really step up to the plate and offer something that takes advantage of the format, rather than just shuffling over material from previously released DVD’s. Disney puts most of their extras in high-def as well, whereas Fox and other studios seem content to only upgrade the movie itself.
While it`s good to see “Big” on Blu-ray, I wouldn’t recommend that people rush right out to buy this one. Check Save Price!

BIG a great special film with worthless extended scenes – Alan Siegel – pacific palisades
the blu-ray itself (as in any remastered film) is much better than any current or previous version. but as for being a “director’s cut” or extended version, there’s essentially not a single scene included that adds anything at all to the storytelling. the theatrical version is far superior.

This Is Spinal Tap [Blu-ray] Reviews By Customers
Every line in this movie is funny. If you’re a musician, you have been in all these situations. If you’re not a musician, well, emmm…
So what about the festival on the Isle of Lucy? What is that about? (‘I Love Lucy’ the Lucille Ball show?)
Etc Etc Etc.
They even mocked the big loudest amps and the stupid vintage instrument craze. Indeed, if a guitar can no longer be considered ‘true vintage’ if the tuners have been replaced, then how can it be considered vintage if the original strings and tags aren’t on anymore? Hilarious.
How about sustain? You can go and have a bite, and come back and it’ll still be going ‘aaaahhhh’…
Again, if you’re a musician, every line rings true and is funny. If not, well, …how much more black can life then be? Check Save Price!
I admit it, I just don’t get this film – Harry M. Shin – Livermore, CA USA
1. I’m into rock, classic rock and since this is one of those classic rock films–> I finally decided I needed to check this out.
2. I admit that I’m lacking in… something, but I just don’t get this film. It’s kind of funny, but more so, it’s just… dumb. But I’m willing to acknowledge to the knowledge of the masses that perhaps there is something magical about this film, it just eludes me.

Listen to the beat of a different drum – bernie – Arlington, Texas
We are treated to a mock band which is a cross between heavy metal and rock-and-roll. The narrator Marty DiBergi (Meat Head … oops Rob Reiner) carries us through a sort of cerebral humor like Bud Abbott Lou Costello’s “who’s on first” opposed to pure slapstick. This film is quite unique and fun for 15 minutes. Then it repeats it’s self over and over and over. Then it just sort of stops.
This presentation looks more like a roll call for unemployed actors. Of course there is always one exception and this exception is Ed Begley Jr.; he performed outstandingly as John ‘Stumpy’ Pepys. If he was not such a great actor, this could’ve been his profession. Ed really can play the drums.
Now you might think this is a period piece. However the reality is someone dusted it off for the Blu-ray Ziete.
Sorry I’m not a snob but I waited for the Blu-ray edition before I watched this movie. Therefore I cannot compare it to previous versions. However it looks very grainy and I do not think it was on purpose. There is an audio commentary by Michael McKean and Christopher Guest that tries to justify the movie but sends more time with their own cerebral humor.
From this movie Rob Reiner moved into obscurity. While Ed Begley Jr. excelled in such blockbusters as “Meet the Applegate’s.” Today he is married to the beautiful Rachelle Carson and champions the green environment.
The Applegate’s (aka “Meet The Applegate’s”) ~ Ed Begley Jr.

NEWLYWEDS NICK (ICE CUBE) AND SUZANNE (LONG) DECIDE TO MOVE TOTHE SUBURBS TO PROVIDE A BETTER LIFE FOR THEIR TWO KIDS. BUTTHEIR IDEA OF A DREAM HOME IS DISTURBED BY A CONTRACTORWITH A BIZARRE APPROACH TO BUSINESS.

I don’t think that I’m the target audience for this movie – I’m a 48 year old woman – yet I have to say that I really love this film. It’s true that the humor is sometimes sophomoric – if that – but it also I think really captures the astonishing difficulty of being an 18 year old trying to navigate the beginning of adulthood. I love that the two guys at the center love each other and are there for each other – their relationship, their deep friendship (which they can barely admit or discuss because of the constraints imposed by our culture on male behavior) is at the heart of this film and grounds and centers it. The women – oddly enough in a movie in which the characters are SO focused on getting laid – are really honestly and sympathetically done; their role in the movie is not just to be “hot babes” or show skin; the movie really cares about what they think and how they feel. And in addition to real characters who act like teenagers, the movie boasts some outrageous humor. I’ve watched this several times, with my husband that 16-year old daughter and it’s something that we all really enjoy. So, even if you’re not a 15 – 25 year old boy, give it a chance if you’re willing to be shocked (and amused) and if you don’t mind a lot of very direct talk about sex and a lot of cursing.
One of the worst movies I saw last year! – Jerry –
The jokes were not appealing to me at all and I nearly fell asleep in the theater!
Easily one of the worst movies I have ever seen!
Stupid movie but fun. – TTWOTW Jess –
I bought this movie because Reggie Young, the trombonist for Earth, Wind and Fire, plays on the soundtrack. It’s a really stupid, teen movie but IS very funny. I don’t think I’ll watch it more than once (or maybe twice). I like the actual soundtrack CD much better than the movie but I don’t mind it being in my collection.
The Title is Very Appropriate – Trevor D. Hoier – Santa Monica, CA United States
Wow, ‘Superbad’ is just that…Super Bad.
For starters, could Jonah Hill be anymore annoying? All this guy does when he’s not standing there with a blank look on his face is moaning and complaining about everything that goes on around him. That’s his character…a whiner who groans about everything and is not remotely amusing when he’s doing it.
Let’s add in a couple of cops who are trying to impress another teenager by showing him how cool they are doing their job. Getting drunk at a bar, driving and then running into Jonah Hill with their cruiser. Ha Ha Ha. That’s some great comedy right there. I might have given this another half star if Hill actually didn’t get up or was hurt so badly he couldn’t talk the remainder of the film, no such luck.
The basic premise of the movie is boys want to sleep with girls they like in high school and are trying to buy alcohol for the end of the school year party. That’s good…it’s an automatic money machine for teenagers everywhere. I just can’t imagine how so many people gave this favorable reviews when there’s one funny moment in the entire movie (at a bar when they loop a videotape of a kid getting clocked in the jaw).
It’s not funny at all. Jonah Hill completely ruins every scene he’s in due to the fact he might be the most annoying man on the planet and note to Directors everywhere: make your female teenage leads smokin’ hot in movies like this…not Lindsay Lohan-like trailer trash.
There isn’t even any skin shown here.
Just embarrassingly bad, really. Superembarrassinglybad, that is.
